Prior to joining LAUSD, Amalia held leadership roles in risk management with the City of Culver City and the City of Beverly Hills, and previously managed risk and loss control programs for Reiter Affiliated Companies, IMT Residential, and the J. Shari Starkey is Senior Vice President of Claims | Western Region at CorVel, bringing over 18 years of claim industry experience. Since joining in 2014, she has advanced from claims supervisor to her current role, overseeing operations across seven jurisdictions. Shari is dedicated to team development and achieving high quality outcomes, emphasizing mentorship and process-driven leadership. Earlier in her career she worked as an insurance adjuster at Travelers Insurance and as a senior workers' compensation adjuster at Gallagher Bassett. Shari holds a B.A. from Georgia Southern University and an M.A. from the University of Phoenix.
